  • Abstract
This paper is concerned with the absolute stability of a direct control system. It is a continuation of the work of Meyer, Kalman and Yacubovich (the MKY lemmas) for the existence of Lyapunov functions with Lurie type for the generalized Lurie problem. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition of frequency form for the Lyapunov functions to be positive definite with negative definite derivative, which is an improvement of the Popov frequency criterion. Subsequently the generalized Lurie problem is completely solved
