Abstract :
This paper analyzes SEDSAT´s solar array´s illumination and power conditions. It uses the method of coordinate frame transformation to compute the sun angles on the solar arrays. It defines the solar array´s normal direction in the geocentric orbital coordinate So, and then gets the new normal direction of solar array at the viewer frame (from the sun). The method can be applied on any kind of orbit. It is a numerical calculation method and easily calculated on a computer. This paper also uses a solar array model to calculate SEDSAT´s I-V and power curves. By combining the illumination with solar array´s model, SEDSAT solar panel´s output power profiles are worked out. These results are very useful for evaluating SEDSAT´s power management strategies
