Abstract :
In this paper, an instrument based on the virtual instrumentation (VI) technique is presented. It allows estimating the trend of electrical quantities in power systems over long observation intervals by acquiring and processing a limited amount of data. An application example dedicated to a daily current profile estimation is presented and the relevant combined standard uncertainty, arising from the uncertainty sources located in the measurement hardware, is evaluated. Finally, the results of a statistical test are presented aiming at verifying the correctness of the gauged relationship.
