Abstract
This paper presents a new design method for PID controllers based on optimization of load disturbance rejection with constraints on robustness to model uncertainties. The design also delivers parameters to deal with measurement noise and set point response. Thus, the formulation of the design problem captures four essential aspects of industrial control problems, leading to a constrained optimization problem which can be solved iteratively
