Abstract :
As the population ages, the portable medical device become a main stream development in the medical technology field. Research has shown that cardiovascular diseases are the major causes of death among all the others. Thus, a device to prevent cardiovascular diseases from happening unexpectedly becomes a stress point on medical technology development. Heart sounds, Electrocardiography, and Pulse Oximeter have been three of the most used non-invasive method for cardiovascular disease detection. However, comparing to the electrodes for the Electrocardiography, a conventional stethoscope and an electronic stethoscope are extremely inconvenient due to their size and weight; which cause those devices to be unsuitable for monitoring the Heart sounds on a long term basis. Therefore, this thesis suggests a newly invented technology called “Real-Time portable Physiological Signal Detection Powered by Thin Acoustic Sensors”, with highly sensitive sensors and circuits that can distinguish and process the characteristic of Heart sounds.
