Abstract
While right ventricular breakthrough (VBK) can be identified by body surface potential maps (BSPMs), there is no remarkable manifestation of the left VBK in BSPM. The authors have found, by simulation study, that the left VBK can be identified with body surface Laplacian maps (BSLMs). The simulated BSLMs for heart models with normal left ventricular excitation showed a unique pattern during the left VBK. This pattern was not found in heart models with abnormal left ventricular excitation. Since the left VBK is clinically much more important than the right VBK, this finding will be clinically important if it can be further confirmed with experimental or clinical studies
