Abstract
Over the past 20 years, the use of diagnostic imaging to guide neurosurgery has evolved from measurements made on the surface of X-ray films, through computerized systems to plan neurosurgical procedures, to fully interactive 3-D imaging in the operating room. The authors describe here the development of a multi-modality surgical workstation, equipped with a stereoscopic visualization interface, that is based on the ISG Viewing-wand image-guided surgery system, and demonstrate its application in several neurosurgical scenarios
