Abstract
This paper presents a simple method for lossless compression of medical images using a two-dimensional spatially varying differential pulse code modulation (DPCM) technique. The performance of the proposed method is compared with that of a fixed DPCM method and the hierarchical interpolation (HINT) technique. The experimental results clearly indicate that the proposed scheme achieves higher compression compared to the other methods considered
