Abstract
Piezoelectric characteristics of SrBi2Nb2O 9 ceramics were studied on an energy trapping phenomenon of thickness-extensional(TE) vibration modes. A resonator with a buried electrode was prepared with cofiring technique to generate the second harmonics. Energy trapping of the second harmonic TE(TE2) mode is successfully realized for the electrode-buried-type resonator, whereas energy trapping of the fundamental TE mode on the single plate is not realized. Calculated dispersion characteristics confirms that the energy trapping of TE2 mode is possible for the electrode-buried-type resonator of SrBi2Nb2O9 ceramics
