Abstract :
In the detection of acoustic emission signals due to compressed air leakage, various complicated factors make it difficult to position leakage sources. Specially, although leakage ultrasonic signals are wanted in the detection, the reflected ones belong to interfering factors. In this research, with an air leak scanner, predefined experiments were implemented to find different characters between reflected and direct leak ultrasonic waves by measuring and analyzing the spectrums of signals from an artificial air leak. And a calculation method for a numerical value to express these characters is given. Using this calculation method to process leak signals detected in real time, reflected signals can be identified, then the wrong localizations due to signals´ reflection can be avoided.
