Abstract :
Communication in numerical substation is very complicated. It is necessary to perform the conformance testing for devices in numerical substation. Three types of conformance testing are provided in this paper. 1)system performance oriented testing, 2)function oriented testing, 3)communication services oriented testing. The relationships among the three types of testing are analyzed. Three types of conformance testing guarantee three type of interoperation of devices in numerical substation. The interoperation based on communication services is the base of the interoperation based function. The function oriented conformance testing has closer relationship with the real project. IEC61850-10 was specified for the conformance testing of communication services. Its limitation is analyzed. The requirements of function oriented testing for the devices on station level, bay level and process level in numerical substation are studied. The idea on how to set up a conformance testing platform for numerical substation is introduced. The concrete function oriented testing platform is provided. The application and effect of the testing platform are given.
