Abstract :
A design approach for realising a low-power/low-voltage current-mode filter operating around 1 GHz region is presented. The key element of the filter is the biquadratic filter inherently implemented from a conventional regulated cascode structure. By vertically stacking these biquads, a high-order very-high-frequency filter can be realised with very-low power consumption. For demonstration, a 4th order Chebyshev filter operating at the cutoff frequency of 1 GHz is implemented. Under 2.4 V supply voltage, the simulation results indicate that the filter exhibits 42.4 dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), 44.9 dB 1%-THD dynamic range and 710 μW power consumption
