Abstract
QSn6.5-0.1 tin bronze was selected as the discharge electrode to conduct the underwater high-voltage discharge experiment. By changing the storage capacitor and discharge voltage, the influence of different discharge energy on this material electrode´s operating characteristic was investigated. Then the mechanisms of tin bronze electrode´s macroscopic ablation and microstructure change were further studied. Experimental results show that using tin bronze as the underwater discharge electrode, the underwater plasma intensity under different discharge energy has presented a high dispersion within 100 discharge times, and the tips of tin bronze electrode ablate severely. Besides, the recrystallization occurs in the tin bronze electrode because of the high temperature created by underwater high-voltage discharge process, which makes crystalline grains grow bigger, then the anti-ablative and anti-impact performances decrease.
