Abstract :
This paper provides algorithms calculating upper and lower bounds on the minimal feedback order necessary to stabilize any particular finite order SISO-system. The upper bound comes from an explicit search procedure for low order stabilizers, and the lower bound from a criterion that is necessary for stabilization to be possible. In addition, a theorem is proved, defining a large class of systems that require full order feedback (system order minus one) for stabilization.
