Abstract :
Heart diseases are the serious health threats to human beings. Traditional cardiac monitoring systems are unsatisfactory to prevent the sudden death events caused by heart diseases. A pervasive cardiac monitoring system is thus developed, which can provide a real-time continuous cardiac care and arrhythmias detection service for any person at any time in any place. This paper gives a detailed description about the architecture and operation fashion of this system. This system has been tested on more than 30 patients in a hospital and more than 10 sportsmen in a training field, and also compared with the HP telemetry system. Concerning the clinical off-line arrhythmia detection, this system has similar results with the HP telemetry, but concerning the outdoor on-line ambulatory arrhythmia detection, this system has better performance results. The evaluation results prove that this system meets the requirements of real-time cardiac monitoring and diagnosing applications.
