Abstract :
A new formulation based on stretched coordinates is developed for perfectly matched layers (PML). The new PML can have multiple poles in contrast to the regular PML with a single pole. The implementation is also derived and the preliminary results are shown to be better than the regular PML with insignificant increase in the computational cost
