Abstract :
Facial feature recognition is an important direction field of pattern recognition, and is widely used in practical applications. Due to the uncertainty of face recognition by body posture, facial expressions and the environment influenced, there are many difficulties in identifying. So before the human facial feature recognition, we need a series of image processing, including filtering, compression, face location, and adjustment of the face pose. Wavelet Transform is the analytical tools widely used in pattern recognition. In this paper we use the Wavelet Transform and Wavelet Packet Analysis for human face image preprocessing, in order to facilitate the work of face recognition.
