  • Abstract
    In this paper, we propose a new method called “Enhanced forward/backward spatial filtering (Enhanced FBsf)” to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of multiple narrowband coherent sources. This approach is a particular signal enhancement estimator that minimizes the effects of the sensor noise and improves significantly the source resolution. We carry out analytic studies and compare the proposed method with other similar algorithms. Numerical evaluations show the effectiveness of the proposed Enhanced FBsf estimator in various scenarios
