Abstract
Nowadays, tidal current power generation has become one of the new energy sources that greatly attract researchers, due to its nonpollution and durative. Because the distribution density of tidal current energy is asymmetric everyday, the electrical power produced by the generators is also unstable AC. The keystones to developing tidal current power generation system include: developing energy conversion system with high reliability and efficiency, and generator system with high quality. Regarding an actual design of tidal current power station in Jiangxia, Zhejiang Province, China, as an example, a kind of power energy control method based on AC-DC-AC frequency conversion and electrical power compensation was given, and a grid-connection closed-loop control method based on grid-connected current tracking was discussed. Application results showed that this method could solve the problem that the power of tidal current is unstable, and improve the efficiency and reliability of grid-connection of tidal current power station.
