Abstract :
We for the first time studied theoretically the cross-gain modulation (XGM) and cross-phase modulation XPM in a quantum dot-in-a-well (QDWELL) based semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) taking into account both the inhomogeneous broadening and the nonlinearities of the carrier scattering rates in quantum dots (QDs) and quantum well (QW).
