Abstract :
We have successfully grown high quality large size piezoelectric single crystals of Ca3TaGa3Si2O14 (CTGS) by the Czochralski technique. The elastic material constants were derived from bulk- and surface acoustic wave measurements. Starting with the elastic constants determined from BAWs we optimized the data set by measuring SAW velocities as a function of propagation angle. Dielectric and piezoelectric constants were also obtained.
