  • Abstract
    High-power transmitting devices of radar systems are required frequently to supply levels of pulse output power from a hundred up to thousand kilowatt and an average output power of the order of 10 kW. Moreover, the radar transmitters should be maximum broad bandwidth to satisfy the requirements of anti-jamming and electromagnetic compatibility. The common requirement for klystrons used in these transmitters is the requirement of a low level of feeding voltages (beam voltage and modulation voltage). Multiple-beam klystron (MBK) design, which is based on the fundamental mode operation of resonators, has good perspectives for application in high-power transmitters. Some results of the developments of high-power multiple-beam klystrons operating in the fundamental resonator mode executed per the last decade are considered in the this paper
