Abstract :
The basic properties of helical electron beams (HEB) formed in the magnetron-injection gun (MIG) of powerful multimeter wave range gyrotrons are investigated. Guns for 1 MW power level 83, 110, 140 and 170 GHz gyrotrons, forming quasilaminar, regularly intersecting, mixed and boundary (between quasilaminar and regularly intersecting) HEB are considered. Evolution of the electron oscillatory velocities distribution function has been traced. Influence of the reflected electrons on beam parameters are studied experimentally
