Abstract :
The islanding effect of utility-interactive photovoltaic (UIPV) system may cause hazards for the grid equipment, and even danger to grid personnel. Therefore, reliable islanding detection is one of the crucial factors to connect grid for UIPV system. Over the years, a number of research works have been concentrated on the techniques of non-detection zones (NDZ´s), which determines the relative effectiveness of islanding detection methods. NDZ´s in Qf0xCnorm space is proved to be much more preponderant. However, it´s difficult to verify the corresponding prediction accuracy in practice, because it needs plenty of accurate local loads with different parameters which cover the points in the space. In this paper, a new strategy that combined both simulation and experiment is proposed to verify the accuracy of QfOxCnorm space NDZ prediction for the active frequency drift (AFD). Finally, the testing results show that the NDZ´s in QfOxCnorm space can predict the NDZ´s in practice very well. Consequently, the NDZ´s in QfOxCnorm space is promising to be applied in practical engineering design.
