Abstract
This paper discusses the use of distributed amplifier based transversal filter as a signal processor for high rate pulse shaping/filtering. Two schemes demonstrating practical approaches for the design of such filters are explored. Simulation results, based on the parameters of a commercially available 40 GHz HEMT foundry process, are presented to illustrate the practicability of the different schemes. A 40 GHz 4-stage distributed amplifier MMIC is constructed using one of the developed schemes and its performance is discussed
