Abstract :
In this paper, we have experimentally demonstrated joint optical switching and residual dispersion compensation using wavelength selective switch (WSS)-based reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (RODAM). It is shown that a WSS-based ROADM can effectively compensate the residual chromatic dispersion without employing additional optical components while performing the optical switching in dynamic optical networks.
