  • Abstract
Information technology has become an increasingly integral part of business organizations and a greater interdependence between information technology and business has evolved. The growing business requirements create opportunities for new technologies and advancements in technology provide new business processes and models. Therefore, co-evolutionary changes generate successes in business organizations. Since each evolution requirement either in business processes or information technology can have an impact onto another, it is necessary to maintain the consistency in result of the requirement. To maintain the consistency it is essential to adopt different strategies. This paper offers insight of the strategies of business processes and information technology in general and implements a framework to demonstrate business and IT strategies in co-evolution context in order to reducing the gap between business and information technology. In this study we have used a survey instrument and an alignment framework to determine the level of alignment between business and information technology in organizations.
