Abstract
In this work, we report a novel integrated thin-film S-SEED array operating near 850nm using the Franz-Keldysh effect. This device is similar to MQW SEED devices reported earlier, and consists of a series connection of two modulators held at a constant reverse bias. The device is addressed optically by a pair of beams, referred to as the “read” and “write” beams. Typically the “write” beam sets the state of the device and the “read” beam extracts the device state for further processing
