Abstract
Summary form only given. In this paper we summarize some results of a rather general analysis of the relevant properties of the lock-in detectable signal. when phase (frequency) modulated light impinges on a photodetector after reflection off a Fabry Perot cavity (Pound-Drever-Hall topology). In particular we will consider the problem of the non-ideal behavior of the electro-optic phase modulator device
