Abstract :
Voltage performance has become a sensitive issue since Hydro One began to integrate a large amount of Distributed Generation (DG) in its distribution system. With the advent of the Feed-In Tariff (FIT) program, Hydro One has established a set of voltage performance design criteria to be used in DG Customer Impact Assessment (CIA). Governed by the voltage performance design criteria, a methodology was developed in order to accommodate a high level of DG penetration without an Advanced Distribution System (ADS). The methodology gives rise to a simple Power Distance Test (PDT) used for the purpose of voltage performance assessment.
