Abstract :
Ultrasound transducers manufactured by screen printing into a thick film multilayer structure presents two resonance frequencies. The transducer behavior was characterized analyzing the Fourier spectrum of the echo pulse received from a stainless steel block and the way it changes when varying the width of the excitation pulse. Only one pulse driver capable to vary width of the excitation pulse was used. Simple filtering mechanisms where used in order to isolate both frequencies behavior. Scan B mode images were obtained using a phantom made of agar and a target of PDMS in order to show actual behavior of different pulses that compose an image.
