Cognitive aspects of a web-based geovisualization application

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how can different disciplines work together to create an innovative, web based user interface for a dataset storing toponyms of settlements. The user can observe the data also in a geovisualized form which makes it possible to get to know the spatial relations between the selected data on a map. The cognitive process, that would be failed using only the paper-based books full of data, is supported and promoted highly by current and future internet technology.
