Abstract :
Fieldwork environments possess diverse restrictions, such as lack of infrastructure and low capacity devices. This article describes an architecture comprised of middleware and services designed to support fieldwork requirements. Services have been projected to support the diversity of devices types, with diverse mobility patterns, in a way to not overload devices with lesser battery and processing capabilities. The data routing inside the work area considers the aspects of types of devices, indicating to the content adaptation service the types of nodes in the environment, for the content generation not to overload the weaker devices. The division of the work area into context areas also minimizes the coverage area of each work group. The use of diverse location information update strategies also reduces the data load that passes through the environment.
