  • Abstract
    Multipoint power-quality (PQ) information can be integrated in networked PQ monitoring system, which is the precondition to locate PQ event source in power grid. This paper summarizes several existing methods, then proposes an improved arithmetic to locate PQ event source with networked PQ monitoring scheme. After definition of virtual PQ monitors in systempsilas rooted tree, the coverage matrix and direction matrix can be extended respectively. Based on a simple operation of these two matrices, the location of the PQ event source can be identified accurately and automatically. A radial distribution network with 11 lines is provided to validate the effectiveness of the improved algorithm. Finally, the application process of the algorithm in PQ diagnoses system is discussed.
