Abstract
The assessment of a first order Markov model for data transmission on an indoor fading channel is investigated, on the basis of experimental data. The data have been obtained during the processing of a frequency profile database, stored during a broadband indoor measurement campaign in the 1.7-2.2 GHz band. The measurement has been carried on in a way, such that experimental sequences of signal to interference ratio, at the DECT frequency (1.89 GHz), have been able to be calculated. The sequences have been quantized, by comparison with a prefixed set of thresholds. The number of thresholds has been adopted equal to one or two. Statistical tests on obtained sequences seem to show that they can be generally modeled, as arising from a first order Markov chain, without dependence on chosen threshold values. Results obtained with two thresholds do exhibit less significance, due to the small amount of data
