  • Abstract
Abstract- The paper describes the shortcomings of Multicast and the characteristics of data transmission in the network and puts forward a new data transmission mode - Point to Multi-Point (P2MP) mode based on IPv6. The paper also designs the specific processing way of the new mode and analyzes its efficiency. The new mode overcomes the defects of the difficulties of expanding and unreliable service packets and overheaded network resources in the Multicast. And the efficiency of new data transmission mode was greatly improved compared with that of the Unicast, and according to the number of clients and hops, it will be increased by 1.36-2.76 times, thus the new data transmission mode can effectively reduce the data flows of the entire network and can be used where data is transformed from one to many or many to many in IPv6.
