Abstract :
Cascaded multilevel inverters appear as a promising solution in the development of AC power supplies for renewable energy sources, particularly those with DC output. This paper addresses the development of a distributed generation system consisting of a multilevel inverter supplied by fuel cells and controlled by fuzzy logic. The proposed system operates in grid-connected as well as in stand alone situations. The circuit topology and its control scheme are presented and analyzed and the system performances are verified based on simulation and experimental results.
