Compiling Remote Files: Redefining Electronic Document Management System Infrastructure (CReED)

This research aims to redefine the electronic document management system (EDMS) infrastructure by applying basic components such as capturing, storage, indexing and retrieval, security and archiving, and implementing other features such as auto-segregation that separate the proposed system from other EDMS. Compiling Remote Electronic Document (CReED) provided an access control to all documents that will grant different privileges to each user of the system. It also utilized a keyword analyzer and result matcher that will make searching and retrieving of documents faster and easier. CReED used a scanner device and file importing tool to capture data and provide document access history for archiving. Moreover, it provided three storage spaces for active, inactive and obsolete documents by utilizing the auto-segregation feature that will increase the speed of document retrieval. This study recommends enhancement of the existing backup and security feature of the system.
