Abstract
This paper presents an on-line estimation of energy recovery using ATERMIS mission profiles. On the basis of some specifications, an electric vehicle is sized and a simulator is developed in the environment of Matlab/Simulink. Also to manage energy, a control unit is implemented in order to provide the appropriate torque set points to the electric machine for propulsion, electric braking and pedal position for mechanical braking. For electric braking, energy recovery is estimated for each mission profile namely traffic, road, urban, free urban and highway. This estimation takes into account lost power in the electric machine and in the drivetrain of the electric vehicle. According to the simulation results, energy recovery is very interesting in traffic when compared to the other mission profiles. Indeed this is useful to increase vehicle autonomy and to estimate online the remaining energy in the battery.
