Abstract :
We present the fundamentals for electromagnetic cloaking by means of change of variables. The method relies on the non-uniqueness of the inverse scattering problem. The scattering of electromagnetic energy is put into a variational form, and the cloak is the effect of a singular transformation. The transform, interpreted as an active transform, prescribes explicitly the material properties of the cloak.
