Abstract
The paper reports on the development of a spoken dialogue system for providing information about public transport in the Netherlands. It is explained how a German prototype was adapted for Dutch. Emphasis is laid on the specific approach chosen to collect speech material that could be used to gradually improve the system. The pros and cons of this method are discussed
