Abstract :
cDNA containing the 3´ part sequences of seven Lily symptomless virus (LSV) isolates were obtained by RT-PCR and sequenced. The sequenced region is corresponding to partial CP gene and the entire sequences of 16kDa gene located at the 3´ end of LSV genome. The sequence homologies of partial CP and 16 kDa protein genes, compared with other reported isolates, were 87.4% to 100% and 97.9% to 100% respectively. At the amino acid level, they shared 95.9% to 100% and 95.7% to 100% sequence similarity respectively. A RNA slide hybridization assay was used to detect the natural occurrence of LSV in lily plants, from both imported cultivars and wild plants. The occurrence frequency of LSV was 40.0% in lily samples provided by Beijing Enter& Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau; and it was 56% and 60% in the samples from Lishui and Haining, Zhejiang Province respectively; the frequency of LSV was 40.0% in the samples of lily varieties from Kunming, Yunnan Province and Guangzhu, Guangdong Province respectively. Thus, LSV infection occurs at a relatively high frequency in field lily from China.
