Abstract :
The approach presented in this paper provides a framework for developing continuous media applications based on the TINA principles of information, computational and engineering viewpoints and combines this framework with the OMG standard for the control and management of A/V streams. Nevertheless, the framework is open for other similar standards. The work described here is based on concepts and implementations in an ATM environment. The extensive use of new OMG technologies such as the notification service and objects by value has significantly improved the elegance and efficiency of the framework architecture as well as the efficiency of the development process itself. Through usage of inheritance of values, the structure of information is precisely mapped to a computational language
