Abstract :
The model chicks was produced by continuous peritoneal injection of different concentration aluminium trichloride to investigate the effect of aluminum (Al) on calcium homeostasis in chicken brain at doses of Al3+ 0, 18.31, 27.47 and 36.62mg/kg BW/d lasting 60 days. The content of Al in brain tissues was measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The concentration of [Ca2+]i in fowl nerve cells was detected by Furoa-2/AM as the calcium fluorescent indicator. Expression of CaMmRNA was detected through semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The results showed that the content of Al and [Ca2+]i in the nerve cell were higher (p<;0.05, p<;0.01) and expression of CaMmRNA was lower (p<;0.05, p<;0.01) than controls significantly. The results indicate that Al disturbed the calcium homeostasis in the nerve cell of chicken brain.
