Abstract :
Presents a neuro-fuzzy controller for adaptively cancelling noise in a duct. An adaptive noise cancelling system generates control sound pressure with the same amplitude and with opposite phase as the noise to be eliminated. Noise is generated from highly nonlinear systems and the noise characteristics vary significantly in time. This means nonadaptive noise cancelling systems do not cancel noise successfully. A neuro-fuzzy controller is trained with the backpropagation learning algorithm to optimize its parameters for adaptively cancelling noise. Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive noise cancelling system successfully cancelled noise.
