Abstract :
The basic limitations of the planar near field scanner are highlighted and a translational technique for increasing the effective scan area of a near field scanner is described. Reference is made to the additional correction and processing required to produce far field patterns, and an example of the results of the technique are illustrated. Its uses and limitations are described, and its possible extension to other transformational methods discussed
