Abstract :
This work proposes an algorithm to control the torque of a switched reluctance machine (SRM). A 6/4 three phases SRM drive is controlled and simulated on PSCAD/EMTDC software. The machine is modeled using an analytical model that takes into consideration the non-linearity of the machine. The control is designed as a Model Predictive Control (MPC) using Discrete Space Vector Modulation (DSVM) with virtual state vectors, called MPC-DSVM technique. The obtained results shown that a good closed-loop control performance is achieved for short prediction horizons in a wide range of speeds minimizing the torque ripple.
