Abstract :
In this paper, a 3D thermal finite element (FE) model was built in order to study the self designed 5.5kW 5 phase asynchronous motor. The analysis of steady state thermal field was resolved in sequential electromagnetic-thermal coupled method which takes the electromagnetic loss of nodes as the heat sources in thermal field calculation. In this way, the thermal field in each component of the motor was obtained. A comparison of main parameters and the performance indexes variation was carried out on the basis of the thermal analysis calculation results.
