Abstract
A novel imaging processing method using gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) to evaluate microbubble concentration in ultrasonic particle image velocimetry (echo PIV) technique is presented in this paper. The image processing method is used to study the optimum microbubble concentration in Echo PIV imaging of a two dimensional blood flow field. It is found that for the GLCM correlation values for three different concentrations of contrast microbubbles and the GLCM could be an effective parameter for real time evaluating the optimal microbubble concentration for Echo PIV imaging.
