Abstract
New technology for the digital implementation of radio circuitry will force a reappraisal of EMC test methods. New modulation methods, leading to more intensive use of the RF spectrum, will similarly force a reappraisal of EMC requirements for military radio. Also the role of frequency management must be reexamined and integrated within the EMC requirement. The aim of this paper is to identify the equipment-level and installation-level tests, which need to be added to the present standard in order to address the problems of EMC between co-sited radios and of EMC between radio equipment and the platform on which it is installed
